Our “Topics from the Trenches” was empty of content this month. Maybe next time.

A Few Quick Announcements

  • WordPress 6.0 is scheduled for release May 24.
  • WordCamp Montclair, NJ is still on for June 25, 2022. It will be the first in-person WordCamp since February 2020. It is being held at Montclair State University.

Topics from the Trenches

Anyone, anyone? Yes, in the back!

Yes, John? What do you have for us today?

John submitted a question in advance asking for help in finding plugins that will enable him to add a photo gallery to a WordPress post and preserve the EXIF data from the photo image file.

Let’s turn this inside an extended reply that serves as our primary topic for this month.

Topic of the Month (TOTM) – How to search for plugins and choose good ones

How to search for plugins and choose good ones

On wordpress.org the plugins page offers a search bar where you can enter the keywords to search. In this case, we could search “photo gallery exif”. That search results in 40 – 60 options.

Search Google for the same terms will return other results, including premium plugins that are not included in the WordPress plugin repository.

Recording

Yes! I remembered! Here is the recording of the SIG. Remember, PACS skips July and August. We’ll be back again in September.

See you in September.
