Our October 2021 meeting took a brief dive into the Block Directory and a quick review of some Block Library plugins available in the WordPress repository. The block directory first appeared in core with WP v5.5. It is a part of the WordPress project that enables developers to create one-off blocks that can be freely used by your website.

- Searching for blocks in the plugin repo brings up 50 screens of options
- Browse for blocks to get a smaller listing using the categories that are displayed on the plugins page of wordpress.org

Video Recording
This month I tried my hand at video recording and editing. I recorded the Teams meeting and downloaded the video file after the meeting. Teams stores the video in a SharePoint server. Once downloaded I used the open-source OpenShot Video Editor to clean up the recording a bit. Basically, I cut out the stuff at the beginning of the recording where I was waiting for participants to come online and the bit of small talk banter that ensued until we kicked things off. I exported the whole thing for use on YouTube and voila, here you go.
